The third hole can be very daunting from the white tee if you find yourself hitting into the wind. The valley with the brook at the bottom is a good 180 yards carry. The fairway slopes from left to right, with all the danger in the form of trees down the right. Therefore a tee shot to the left half of the fairway is the safest option. However, the green also slopes from left to right so the further left you have hit your tee shot; the harder it will be to keep your short iron approach shot on the green.
